What is Grenada Community Foundation?

Formed in 2009, GCF is a non profit corporation recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as tax exempt under Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code and registered as a charity with the Mississippi Secretary of State.

Who funds Grenada Community Foundation?

GCF depends entirely on donations from the public and occasional support from the City and County of Grenada. Donations are tax deductible.

We also apply for grants from time to time to support specific projects.

Who manages Grenada Community Foundation?

GCF’s affairs are managed by its board of directors, all of whom are volunteers. We have no paid staff, and the board and others donate office and meeting space and many other items. There is no relationship between the GCF board and any other organization; we are independent though we work to maintain strong relationships with City and County government and the Greater Grenada Partnership and others.

Why should I invest in Grenada Community Foundation?

There are several ways to invest. If you are interested in a particular project, we are thrilled to receive directed donations. If you value our independent voice and want to see the organization prosper and grow, we love unrestricted donations.

If you want to establish your own charitable giving organization, you can do so under the umbrella of GCF, saving yourself the trouble of setting up your own 501(c)3 organization. Ask any board member for information on how to do this.
