Thank you from the 100 Black Men of Grenada
On behalf of 100 Black Men of Grenada, Inc. I’d like to thank the Grenada Community Foundation and GG 365 for your support. The grant will be used toward funding an educational field trip to the 100 Black Men of America annual conference to be held in New Orleans, LA. June 5-9, 2013. Six students who have shown improvement in academics, attendance and behavior have been select to attend.
The students will attend workshops such as Teen Summit – Friend or Foe: Overcoming
Negative Peer Pressure. In this “back by popular demand” Teen Summit,
mentees will engage in a lively discussion and interact
with celebrities, professional athletes, and entertainers
about the pitfalls of negative peer pressure. Students
will be challenged to a Call to Action and will leave
this session having developed proven coping strategies
and skills to overcome the negative influences of their
classmates, neighbors, relatives, and even friends.
High School Workshop: Early
Intervention: Taking Charge of Your
Financial & Educational Health. High School students will learn the importance of
making healthy choices related to their finances and
education. A diverse panel of exciting and youthfriendly
role models will also discuss other important
areas where healthy decisions should be made
by teenagers such as dating, socializing, social
media, goal-setting, and post-secondary readiness.
This experience will help students make positive choices and reach their educational goals and become productive citizens. I would encourage everyone to become GG 365 donors because of the support they provide to charitable organizations in Grenada.
Thank you again for your support.
